Hi, next month my Xantia is going for mot ! what areas do I need to be targeting ? any advice gratefully received ,

mine was once failed on the flexible brake pipes. The tester was of the opinion that they were perished, although not that much, but due to the high pressure hydraulics it posed more of a safety threat than on a 'normal' car; and wouldn't pass it until I changed them for new ones.

So, might be worth a quick look?

Would that have been in 2009 Dave? They do seem to have flavours of the month, perhaps something to do with VOSA circulars.

Terry, usual stuff, strut tops, suspension bushes, ball joints, inner track rod joints, cv gaiters. Then a good look for any brake and suspension metal pipes that might be a bit corroded.

Rear brakes suffer from uneven wear if corrsion between rear arms and calipers forces the caliper over at an angle.

around then, maybe 2008. They did look a bit ratty when they came off though...
