Rad-Fan compatibility

Post by P616VKX »

Hey guys,

Can anyone tell me if the rad fans from a 1993/1994 1.8i will work on my 1997 1.8-16v S1?

I need a new one really and was just wondering if I can go to the breakers and fetch one.

Yes, they will work but the car may have gone for wrecking because of fan failure.
A good fan turns freely by hand, but can’t be spinning loosely like there was nothing inside.

Excellent. There's about 15-18 Xantias in my local breakers so two of the 30 fans will work!!!

Depending on the cost, maybe try to get two fans from the same car still on the frame so as to get the relay sockets and a piece of loom.
