V6 aux belt change
Anyone got the least painless rundown on changing the belt and tensioner?
Did the old ear to screwdriver test on it today. Seems to be the source of whistling noise. It sounds rough with the screwdriver against the spring. Belt is starting to crack anyway
My dual mass pulley wheel has the chalk line on it and seems spot on.

It's an easy one Lexi
Disconnect the battery and remove the ECUs and ECU box for maximum access.
Apply a 21mm spanner to the big nut on the tensioner and loosen the concentric 13mm nut a little whilst holding tension on with the 21mm spanner.
Whilst still holding tension, undo the 13mm pinch bolt below it almost right out so the shoulder is fully exposed.
Release tension on the 21mm spanner, the belt will go slack. Remove belt. Remove the 13mm concentric nut, remove the pinch bolt and then remove the big tensioner pivot bolt.
Remove the tensioner.

The tensioner roller? Is that available as a roller bearing or a complete assembly?
Who has bought what from where?

I reckon it'll be a complete assembly Lexi although the spring will be available separately...
You may be able to remove the roller via the Torx bolt and find a replaceable ball bearing in the middle of the roller... Although this bearing won't be available separately from Citroen a bearing factor may be able to supply a suitable generic replacement.
Is your roller metal or plastic?

Dont' know what it is made of Jim as aint got it off yet. Also aint sure that this is the area of the noise. Just wish it would get worse to help me identify. It aint half grinding through my big screwdriver though.
Eurocarparts don't have the roller tensioner . Cit Service don't show you the part or number...........why is that?

Cheers mate. You would think that an INA roller would match up with that from another model. The one straight across from it looks the same? I will look at the bearing. My mate has a press and there are good bearing suppliers around here.
At 140 quid for the assembly I will be trying other ways .

GSF do that assembly for just under £60. INA branded.
The roller across from it is not the same. Guess how I know

Toby? Do you have a GSF P/N for that item. My branch cannot seem to cross reference it from CIT. p/n 5751 40.

No GSF part number on the invoice. Says it is a special order item only which is true as I had to order it in.
I also had the same problem with the cross referencing and they gave me the wrong part.
The INA part number is 533006220, that is on the box (which I've kept with the old tensioner) and on the invoice.
I was sure the XFZ and XFX used the same tensioner but the part number 5751.40 is different to the one for my Coupé which is 5751.A9.

No luck in getting this from my GSF branch in Glasgow. Normally very good over the counter to me. I have phoned them twice with the INA number. They have phoned a parts manager in England but he has not got back to them.
Because we wear kilts and some give listening time to daft Gowks like Alex Salmond.......we aint privvy to ordering parts up here ..........."we may have to order this part from a real GSF.........this is only the Glasgow branch ".............my words of course

Probably,
My local branch (Poole) managed to find mine.
I've just looked on the website but that is useless. It lists a tensioner but it is actually the idler pulley.
I tried ECP too but that is just useless for part details.
