Hi guys need your invaluable help once more.
Sorry if this is covered elsewhere, had a quick look round but couldn't see it mentioned?
Rear ARB clamp has broken, well the thin metal rod has corroded and snapped.
Couldn't figure out why the car would only sit high (in jacking pos) or low with no other inbetween positiosn available on the rear.
Initially thought the height corrector mech had seized again or the height corrector itself was blocked, but when I got under car to have a look, I spotted the ARB clamp straight away
MY height corrector is also weeping LHM from one of the diaphragms. I've read that the you can't buy these as a replacement part?
I need to know if the ARB clamp is a 2 piece unit?
I had a quick try to prise the clamp apart but it's pretty corroded. Need a new one anyway.
Anyone been in this situation before?
There's a S/H height corrector on ebay but it's for a MK2. Are they all the same bar the activia??
cheers.

Hi -
The HC unit is the same type no matter year/variant.
Any Xantia incl. Activas would be a donor then.
The clamp comes in separate versions for the ARB diameter and is a single piece component. However only one type is used for all Estates :
5291.17 - AR DIAM 23 - ESTATE
Pricetag in the vicinity of £25exvat
Cut the old one using an anglegrinder or hacksaw.

Thanks for that Anders
So I need to undo/remove the ARB completely or just loosen and slide on one side when putting the new clamp on?

When the bolt is out the clamp the clamp will lever open and fit over the arb.
You will need a set of ramps and patience to reset the rideheight, try and fit it in the same place as the old one to start with.

A quick gander at Citroen Service shows there are still x2 ARB diameters
on the 1.9TD estate without active roll (wouldn't that be nice - chance
would be a fine thing!)

Thanks, I've tried to mark the ARB where the origional clamp was. Fingers crossed!

Got round to sorting this issue out yesterday.
Ordered a new ARB clamp and height corrector rebuild kit from Martin @ Pleiades. Kit includes diaphragms, sealing rings, and dust covers.
Haven't quite got the ride height spot on (little too high), but the main thing is the car is now functional again.
Thanks for you help again chaps
