C5 Satnav / Service

Just got my C5 2.2 HDI Exclusive with Navidrive 07 plate yesterday, very pleased with her, so many toys.

The maps say 2008/2009 on them, do i have to go to a main dealer for updates or are they available on the internet for download?

Also its got all its main dealer service stamps, is it really every 20,000 miles for oil changes on these modern cars? It seems a long time to me, when my BX diesel i changed every 6000 miles and my Xantias i have done every 10,000. On another service note how much would you trust the dealer to have done everything they say should be done at mileage X if it has the stamps for that service interval? Do they have a habbit of skipping things or generally they follow the letter?

Is your C5II a 2.2 136 automatic or a 2.2HDi 173bhp version? If its the 173 thats a very rare spec in Exclusive trim level.

As for servicing, 20K is far too long in my books. Luckily both of our C5IIs have been on yearly or 10K miles services and not the stated 20K miles, its just too long.

I always service my cars at 6,000 miles or 6 months, whichever comes soonest.

Im not sure bout the nav though.

Its the 173BHP Auto. I drove from Stoke on trent to devon to get it was the only one for sale in the country.

A 173 auto Exclusive, thats very very rare! In fact it must have slipped my mind that they even made a 173 automatic.

Ever rarer with the Navipack option! Its not got the leather seats, but both front seats are still electric adjustment.

Do you know how easy it is to get a spare remote/key done and rough cost? It only came with 1 key, and need a spare just in case.

Does it have the light grey or the dark grey cloth?

Ive not bought a C5 key luckily, they come with 2 remote keys which must be around the £100 - £150 mark if not more.

Just a couple of questions on this if anyone knows:

My Sat Nav has a 2004 NavTeq disc spinning around in the drive although i have a receipt for a 2008 upgrade?? so is obviously out of date.
Do i have to use NavTeq for an upgrade or can i use any of the various operators in the car (Tomtom or iGo) for example??

Thanks for that Steve but i have already had a look at this site and don't really understand much of it

I have the car system to update (NavTeq) and one i used to use in my old car which is installed on a PDA (iGo)

I downloaded something last night (which took 4 hours) but only 30 seconds to burn onto disc!
Not sure what i have downloaded as i have yet to try the disc in the car.

I think I might still have the file I down loaded, give me a couple of days and I'll see if I can find it, it could be on any of a dozen memory stick.
