my 2002 van dispatch (with a 2.0 hdi engine) as a po243 fault code turbo/sup wastegate solenoid A malfunction which of the 3 identical solenoids is the wastegate one ?

I had a quick look and the 2 leftmost solenoids (egr and another ?) had a common vacuum pipe going to their 'in' ports. When i followed the pipe to the 3rd solenoid (on the rhs) the pipe sucking on tickover was going to the 'out' port ?
surely the vacuum's should all be at the solenoid 'in's which then opens to allow the vacuum to reach the valves (wastegate, egr etc) ?
could someone in the know confirm or put me straight ?

The pipes are in a constant vaccumm.. The solinoid valves then open and close depending when the ecu will call for either turbo wastegate to open. Egr valve to open...i think the third opens a supplementry inlet butterfly at some point..

Don't know but as the valve is only a two port on or off device wouldn't have thought it would make much difference.johntom wrote:thanks, so should all three solenoids have the pipe with the vacuum at tickover going to the 'in' port ?
