Post by lussasgraham »

Hi guys i hope this aint considered as cheeky as its a question about a renault espace? My friend here in france is running wv[his own as he runs a chip van]and told me he was using it,i am no mechanic but i do follow the forum threads here so i said from my limited knowledge that he must have a bosch hi pressure pump.He knowing less than me about cars said he did not know and did it matter?
his vin no isVF8JE0H0521684198
He says he runs a 30%mix with 70%diesel.
Any heilp very appreciated

There are guys on this site who know more than me , but with my last 3 citroens the pump has had 'bosche' printed on it , the top has a mushroom shape . If it's a Lucas that also may well be printed on it if so he better stop using veg oil , it will knacker the pump.[/img]

I don't know if Renault use the same pumps as PSA, but the PSA pumps are easy to tell apart by the cold start cable (from thermostat housing), replaced by electrovalve on later cars:

Bosch: cable to back of pump
Lucas: cable to front of pump

That's the easiest way on most to tell. :)
