What an absolute beaut that is!

I had a Gti back in '87. Awesome little thing, and sincerly wish I'd kept it now.
Believe their are only about 10 examples left in the UK now.

Thanks! 8-)
There's hardly any GTis about nowadays - I'd snap one up in an instant if I could and it was half sensible price-wise.
There's a little more than 10 left but either way - they're seriously rare machines.

Not 100% sure where I heard this, but it could have been the last Citroen O.C. show I attended down in Suffolk next to a dogs home about 4/5 years ago?
I'd love to know how you find this info out, 'cus I'd like to know how many AX GT''s are left.

Those wheels on your Visa. I don't recall ever seeing that design/style before. :?:

Meanwhile. This Xantia I've discovered.
Spoke briefly to the dealer that's selling it, but he was on his mobby and driving (hands free hopefully) so the conversation was both breaking up and somewhat hazy, but it is for sale.....in Exeter, 189 miles away.

I have no idea what spec it is, but he thinks it's a 1.9 so it won't be an Hdi, and it's on an 's' plate anyway, so it must be a TD surely?
Air con? I've no idea, but as it's the Mk2 it will have won't it?
1 owner and alledgedly in excellent nick, so I'm going to take a chance and travel down to see it.
It BETTER be good, or I will be most dis-pleased.

Apart from the usual stuff, what in particular should I be looking for, bearing in mind that it's a TD and an estate, neither of which I've owned before in Xantai guise.

That Visa does look like an absolute treasure 8-)

A quick picture of our low mileage Xm 16v, 31K in 2009:

Such a fresh car. Pretty much as new condition. Its crystal clear headlights and sidelights give a bit of its condition away in that picture.

Should not really have sold it but I prefer our current Xm.

...I'm just going by memory and what Mike Harker (the "Visa-man") says - they're are getting seriously rare nowadays.

Next to a dog's home? That would've been the CCC National Rally at Godmanchester, next to Wood Green.

You can see how we managed to find some general Visa figures here- unfortunately not specific models though.

I believe that the trims on the were only used on the 14TRS, and seeing that there's only 2 known to the CCC - you don't see many! :)

Thanks Chris.
It's one of those cars that you can take out of the garage at a moment's notice, give it a quick wash and leather and it's looking as good as new again.
I've got no intention of selling it either - it's staying firmly here! :)

The 14TRS is certainly a contrast to my other Visa, the 652cc Twinpot Special. It's like seeing beauty and the beast together - it's so bad it's funny! They'll be parked side-by-side at the National too.

Yes, im sure i recall Mike saying something similar about the GTi, really cant recall how many he said now though.

Its certainly a car to be keeping Franklin, you wont find another

Nor will you find another like your Special ... I know a lot of people like cars that they can fix themselves in their own garage at home, but that one really has gone way beyond that

Im looking forward to seeing them at the National. :)

I think the number of 16 rings a bell - but that might be for the Decap. :? Mike'll know though! :!:
I've just popped a question on the Visa forum.

I'll be doing some more DIY 'jobs' to the Special too, and as Mike says...
...after talking to you last weekend Franklin, I still think the only way forward with your Special visually is to make it more shocking
...and that's just what I'm going to do!  It'll cause a stir at the National, I'm sure...!

...just got a reply from Mike - seems my memory isn't too bad!
...at this point in time 16 maybe 17 and only 3 of those have a rolling MOT. :o
