EGR

Post by civvie »

I have read that if you disable the Egr system you can get a bit more oompf out of the 1.9td xud engine. If I did this would there be any detremential (is there a spell checker here?)effect on the engine, if not now is it done I've heard its easy.
Got to try and make up for the power loss when the a/c is on.

I doubt you will notice much difference, but to try it simply pull the plug from the electrovalve situated to the left of the LHM reservoir.
Test its operation to ensure it is not faulty, if its stuck open pulling the plug will not stop the EGR valve from opening.
There are two valves side by side, the other is for idle speed adjustment, follow the rubber vacuum tubes from the valves to determin which one to disconnect.
