Is it a 'clean' PC where you're trying to install? I mean was there any version of lexia installed/uninstalled previously?

The CD installation version should be (or usually is) LEXIA-345.13

Supposing that you're installing CD version LEXIA-345.13, ...
Did you remember to create an empty text file (with Notepad) named LEXIA3 v45.txt under C:\
before starting installation?

The name of the file I had to create in the root of C:\ was version.txt which was a blank file.

I've created a blank version.txt, as per the instructions given in the readme file, so that's not the reason. should I make a blank folder as VV suggests? I'll try that later.
Thnx.

It seems that both files work
- LEXIA3 V45.txt
- blank.txt

atr, not a blank folder but a blank file.

I have installed to my laptop XP (SP3) and it still works fine.
There must be some other reason :?

Any anti-virus software blocking?

That's becoming a bit confusing :?

You have Administrator rights (?) while trying to install it.
Does it create new folder as C:\APPLIC

Try to get another installation package and try with it?
May be the setup media has some damaged files in it :?

Hi
Thanx for your good will and efforts. I was wrong. I've creates a file, not a folder (version.txt) under c:.
VV- no, it doesn't create a new folder.
acrowot - I'm not getting an error message or any other message. it is like if it was in the middle of the process, but there is no process.
Mike T - I've downloaded the ver45 since I was thinking too that the media I received with the instrument was faulty. when I expand it, I'm getting a lexia3.nrg that contains a setup.exe file. after it expandes, an instashield wizard window with french writing appears, seems like it starts to install and then...nothing.
still in hope...

Mine is the same version as yours, to install I have to open the Lexia 45 folder and click on a file in there called instlex.exe, a window then opens and at the bottom left it says "Valider pour continuer" on the right hand side of this window half way down is a red box with a sort of star and like an enter symbol this is the validate key, when I press this the next window appears with the countrys flags in it to select the language. Is this what happens with yours so far, it does take a long time to install.

An .nrg file is a (nero) disc image I think. "Expanding it" sounds like a hack and if said hack is then automatically running setup.exe, then that's where the problem lies, I'm sure.

If you burn the CD image, there should be an installation doc/help file that explains which file on the CD you use to install Lexia software. Could well be instlex.exe as acrowot pointed out but it's definately not setup.exe
