Wonder if you can help me.

Stop lamp comes on when ignition is on, but recently has been going out IMMEDIATELY when car is started (used to go out after approx 12 secs).
-
My accumulator sphere is only a few years old, and tick heard from pump approx every 80 secs.
-
Also, when drop suspension to lowest point, then change back to normal, the STOP indicator does not come on anymore during period car is rising.
-
Please advise if there are any basic checks I can do to try to resolve this?

Many Thanks, Steve

Resolve what? It doesn't sound like you have a problem.StevieM wrote: Please advise if there are any basic checks I can do to try to resolve this?
Could it be the pressure switch on the pump? Mine always staysz lit upon cold starting for a good 10 seconds... And if I put it on low, it takes 20-30 seconds for the light to go out then another 20 seconds to rise!
It should come on when the car is in low going to normal driving position.
Unless you have a sinker then it'll go out when the engine senses crank.
So I understand it!
Stu.

Thanks for your replies....bleed screw open 1/2 turn with engine running indeed causes light to come on.

I had a new pump fitted last year....it solved many pbms...maybe it has been like this since it was done.
-
Anyhow....I understand that most factors causing lamp to come on are set up in a "failsafe" way, presumeably meaning that a break in continuity will give a warning(correct me if wrong).
As long as lamp screams at me if pressure drops, I'm happy.
-
Tks again.
