Hi
hopefully i be replacing a lower front ball joint on my 2005 C5 estate this weekend (assuming the socket arrives).
What torque do i need to tighten the ball joint to and is it recommended to use loctite ?

Had a go today and failed !
I removed the disc/caliper for better access and got the ball joint split from the wishbone but couldn't get the ball joint undone from it's socket and ended up puttting it back together unchanged. I bought the proper socket for the bal joint, but despite using a 15" adjustable and a length of tubing, I couldn't get it to budge ?
Is it normal for them to be so tight?

Ive just done this job myself on the xm, and im afraid the only way i could get it undone was to remove the hub and take it up to a friend with an air gun to rattle it off, even then it took a few goes!
As for doing it up i used loctite and just applied as much force as i could manually. (still havnt put it back together yet though!)

Took it to the garage today, where the job was completed using a 3/4" drive wrench and a length of tubing. After rocking the ramp it finally gave in and started to unscrew ! No wonder I couldn't loosen it, the mechanic who does several taxis (peugeots/citroens) said sometimes they are near impossible.
