Hello, I've looking for some adivce to help a garage diagnose a problem I have.
I can hear a squeak/groaning noise coming from the rear suspension when driving over bumps, or when the suspension settles after stopping. I thought it might be brake related as it sounds a bit like when you start to move on a hill when you let your foot off the brake slighly.
Its not the brakes though (but they did find I needed new pads and discs)
The noise does not happen for the mechanics. The noise is less today and the weather is damp with wet roads. Maybe something dried out?

£47.00 per side from gsf.part number 512PC0050.Took my mechanic 3hours to do both.
Worth checking tyre wear as well as when my bearing was shot my rear tyre dissapeared quite quickly.Thats what prompted me to get it checked and fixed.I had been ignoring the noise at the rear as i only heard it very occasionally and mostly just going over speed bumbs.
Anyway once sorted the improvement ih handling was great and tyres now wearing even
hope this helps.

Erm, 27,000. I demonstrated the noise the the mechanic so thats an improvement.Citroenmad wrote:Has it done many miles?
Could well be the radius bearings, but usually 100K plus seems the norm.

I can't think of any floods. We did have all that snow though. Maybe that got in somewhere.myglaren wrote:Has it been through fords/floods?
It is a very low mileage for the trailing arm bearings to be failing but they do appear to be very susceptible to being drowned.
The garage has looked at it and found very little play in them so has recommended leaving them.
