Post by ashy90 »

it normal for there to be a clicking noise after startup, a suspension noise I'm talking about not engine related tallies etc. I believe its a pump?

Car in question is 97 1.8 16v

Its probably the hydraulic pump cutting in and out, if its doing it rapidly, say more than once in 10 seconds the accumulator sphere probably wants replacing.

I would say it was once every 10 seconds. What does it mean if it's the accumulator sphere that is flat?....what effects does/can it have? What happens if its not replaced just yet?

Poor brakes under certain circumstances, poor ride, no reserve of pressure should the auxillary belt fail resulting in almost immediate loss of braking and finally, expensive damage to the pump and pressure regulator.
