Testing MAF Sensor

Is it possible to test a MAF sensor ? and if so how do you do it.

The MAF sensor is from a 1.4 hdi engine and is a SIEMENS 5WK9631.

Yes. i know because the garage next door to us can do it....how exactly i do not know

My brotehr's garage has a tool that does it, I think it was like an osiliscope. I only had it described to me and wasn't really listening.

Is the usual test to disconnect it and see if it makes a difference?

If it was a MAP
Try attaching a volt meter across the outputs I have a 0-12v meter attached and look on it as a vacuum gauge it has been in place for the last 2 years approx 5v on tick-over dropping to next to nothing on full throttle.
