Hi Guys
Today I bought another zx it's a k reg td manual and the speedo, rev counter and temp guage are not working, I see a few people have had speedo problems but is there something common that makes them all go? i'm hoping it's just a loiose connection somewhere of a fuse, or is it something different? my other zx speedo needle wobbles at about 40 but still works, are the rev counters electronic??
I hope someone can help
Rich

K plate should be cable drive later might be electronic.
Examine fuses.
Next examine rear washer relay (yes really) in the hatchback trim panel for signs of water. If this gets corroded this causes one fuse to blow which does effect the panel.
Failing that it might be something relatively simple like a broken earth lead around the panel wiring.

Said link does cover the multipin plugPeter.N. wrote:..or the two pin plug that connects it to the loom, not very easy to get at but on the gearbox end of the cylinder head, just above the gearbox.

Mine was actually floating in the breeze, I've poked it behind the starter motor for now and neatly cable tied the excess up as there was about half a mile of un-needed cable, I thought about cutting it down but given how sensitive they are I though against it.

I have looked all around the end of the head and can't see anything, I found the plug by the oil filler, and unplugged it, that looks fine, the wire seems to go from there down into the area of the speedo cable but I can't see where even with an extending mirror! has anybody got a piccy of where the sensor plug is ??
thanks guys
