C4 Rally Car Replica.

Post by Citroening »

Just spotted this that's going up for auction:

8-)
I came across it from just browsing through BCA's website as we're looking for a C4.
...it would be nice but it's that bit later (58 plate), that the £6000 guide price is a bit strong.

Still lovely though. 8-)

I'll need you to take a seat in the back of my car...
Won't you just get every spotty oink teen in the neighbourhood queing up
for their free sample of Red Bull?

That reminds me actually.

For the remaining traffic cars still being run in my area, Plod aren't running
in silver cars with the battenberg pattern applied in a bid to flog the more
popular silver off as a 'normal' car later with teh stickers removed.

That's so last year. They're now using black cars with the battenberg which
is a bit different! Most are beemers too.

No point it being subtle though - it's a rally car replica!

I think it's lovely but of course it's not to everyone's taste - not everyone likes the CX Rally Car:

But why? Fun? Great for a quick pop to Sainsbury's then.

As I see it, with this C4 you'd have to justify it's purchase by spending every
weekend at hillclimbs or trackdays, or be under 20 years old and/or have
either an inferiority complex, or have a extremely extrovert personality?

No?

IMO, I think that if you was looking for a C4 and didn't want to blend in with the crowd then what a perfect car it would be.

Sure, it's not everyone's cup of tea but it's good to be different and it would be fun too with it having the rally car livery.

the CX rally car is a beauty, i would love one, the C4 pretend rally car though is not worth the tires it stands on, you get a normal gutless C4 with a whale tale to make it noisy, less economical, and slower and you have to advertise red bull everywhere you go.

The worst bit about it is you have to drive the mobile bilboard around and not get payed :?

Save the pennies, put them into tracking down a one of These

D
XM Prestige PRV6 92
Talbot Express Autotrail Chinook 89
Mitsubishi L200 Trojan 14
Xantia Activa 95, sold (missed)

Service Citroen is awesome, it shows me pictures of all the parts i used to be able to buy............

Thanks for the comments on the CX Rally car Dean.
It's taken a lot of work to get it where it is and apart from the engine, the interior is the final part to replicate as I have now sourced some pictures of the original car.

It will never be sold though due to the connections with Roger and my aim this year is to get the interior done.

I don't actually think I've put a proper description and pics up about it...I'll have to do that sometime! :)

My misgivings are directed soley at the C4. I've no background to the Cx
but can see the as-per-genuine extended spheres and their bonnet
shrouds/cut outs. Mind, I'd say that bit of frontal angle iron and wattage
will dent performance especially if it's the original Citroen 2000cc motor.

I'm not saying I hate it, neither am I saying it's pretty and I like it: jury's
out for me TBH - not sure I'm comfortable with doing weird things to a CX.
Big like getting Claudia Schiffer to have a Jordan breast enhancement

I didnt realise YOU had a CX rally car, more info if you please. This sounds like a very interesting vehicle.

...yep, the record stands at 86MPH down a hill on the convoy run at the 2009 National Rally. :D

It's not meant to be pretty as it was designed for effectiveness to go from London to Sydney as quick as possible.

 ..it is there on the bonnet as it's just the camera angle.

...if you're really eagle-eyed you would've spotted the names on the sunstrip - my dad, Roger and I.
We used to do road rallies in it and had enormous fun with it...here's a scan of a picture of dad giving it the beans around the autotest:
