Most VERY likely!

At worse, even, snapped the Anti roll bar Clamp... Signs of a Siezing linkages..

If you move the lever in the car to MAX does she go up then??? This will confirm the Dogbone has popped off.

I assume you must have a completely leak FREE engine, as the front linkages are useually kept lubricated by engine oil leaks, of which are common on XUD engines... :D

I have taken this pic of the front height corrector. Dog bone connection point is marked.
It's from a scrapcar (My homemade sphere removal tool has earned it for me, for free 8-) That's another story :) )

Image

Viewing direction would be like towards front of the car and looking at the same direction as the long rod link.
(Edit: I have added viewing direction in below pic.)

Here's both rear and front height correctors:

Hope these will help.

You could just try sitting in, engine running, and move the height control lever to high, to low and back again half-a-dozen times, giving it about thirty seconds to a minute in each position with a bit of rev. The problem with the anti-sink is that the height correctors can get stuck, as with this design the internals seldom move more than a millimetre or two in normal use. I get my Xantia to do some 'stretch and squat' exercises about once a month for this reason.

xantia front height adjuster

Hi all
Well welded the bracket to dog bone joining piece using eutectic 680 as the material appears to be somewhat akin to spring steel and mild steel would have been unsuitable to say the least. Success now have front suspension however appears to be a little high how do we set it a little lower; and does any one know the part number of item number 3 according to the part layout of VertVegas diagram.

Number 3 is:
Saloon: 5291 13 ------ CONTROL LEVER ---- AV DIAM 22 ---- W/O ACTIVE ANTI-ROLL
Estate: 5291 14 ------ CONTROL LEVER ---- AV DIAM 23 ---- W/O ACTIVE ANTI-ROLL

Recently I learned from one of the threads here that Estate and Saloon has different diam. rear control levers.
Front control levers might be same diam in both models :?
----
Edit: I had to check it just to make sure .... :?
Also front is different for Saloon and Estate.
I have updated above product code information and added Saloon

Fairly simple to do..

BUT

you MUST have the car on secure ramp.. with the weight on the wheels...

WITH the engine running and BE SURE IMPORTANT!!! you HAVE got enough space under the car on the LOWEST setting for you to be lieing under... DO a test and put the car on the lowest and see if you WILL be safe .... the Front height controller is just behind the front subframe..

Once you are SURE then put the car back at its "Normal" height, and with the engine running, locate the clamp on the anti roll bar, and theres a single 11mm nut... slacken the 11mm nut, but DO NOT Remove... Make sure theres still a tiny bit of resitance between it and the anti roll bar.. with the nut slacken rotate the clamp A SMALL AMOUNT!! NOT a lot is needed. This is were you find the slight resistance is needed, hald the clamp for a moment for the HP Pump to kick in and make the adjustment. Depending which way you turn the clamp, she will wither go DOWN or UP... I cannot remember which way to turn the clamp to make her go up or down.

Once you are happy with the height tighten the clamp up.

Each time you adjust, then try a "Suspension Bounce" test, tighten the clamp after each adjustment.

IF you put the suspension on high, and WITH the engine running, so the car stays up, pop under quicky with WD or simmilar, and keep spraying the linkages once a week, the oil should keep working at the pivot points and free her up more AS long as your spheres are nice and soft with pleanty of movment.
