That's really odd. At what point are you switching on the ignition?

So you're getting to the part where it says "Please connect the Lexia interface to the PC and to the vehicle. Switch on the ignition" - yet after that it won't play nice?

Are you being prompted for the RPO number? What model of car? Is the OBD plug pressed all the way home?

Just to check - you are using the Lexia dongle, too - not just a generic OBD-USB connector with pirate software?

Not 100% clear from your reply, but you are leaving the ignition switched on? That's essential.

As a side note, there's no demonstrable need to switch the key off and on every time it tells you to. I usually leave it on from the point just after I've selected the model.

The other thing to try is putting the Lexia on another car, this will reveal if it's a fault with your diagnostic socket or the computer bits.

I'm guessing you've probably tried this, but make sure you select C3R (which is correct for the facelift model), not just C3. Selecting the wrong option leads to communication errors.

Update tried switching the Ignition on and leaving it on no change

Tried changing to C3R did not find the Vin

Although car is 2007 Reg it looks like a 2006 registered in 2007 it is a 1.4 petrol Desire

OBD Connecter is quite slack is that normal ? tried holding in different postions but no joy?

Will try to find a differnet Citroen to plug into but may take a few days

Are you putting in the correct RPO number? If you put an incorrect number in, then it will be looking for a different ECU and not communicate with the one in the car. Guess how I know that...

It's a five digit number on the same sticker as your paint code, near the lower hinge of the driver's door. Either in the high 10000s or lower 11000s.

Chic_Scotland,

Are you in Scotland? If so, where abouts?

I'm in Glasgow and have a Lexia, am happy to show you how to use it if you wish.

If you're still not having any joy and would like to try mine, let me know.

David.

I have a similar one and it doesn't ask for RPO at all but happy with VIN only   Working fine 8-)

Just to make sure:
- Did you "Activate" it?
- Is it connected to USB 2.0 port?
