any no how to turn this service spanner off,car is

Press the odometer reset button then turn on the ignition without starting the engine, the spanner symbol should disappear and the counter reset to 0 - may count down to 0.

I'm presuming here that it has been serviced and the owner doesn't know the reset procedure.

My daughter's SAAB has just been serviced/MOT'd and the service indicator popped up today.

.... following on - And hold the trip button in untill the milage has finished counting... if you stop half way through you will need to do it again.

On xantia HDi's I think its 12,500...

As for Petrol engines, Ive no idea, what ever a petrol service interval is...

I think the most you can set it to on a petrol S2, is 20 000 Km.
