The accumulator sphere can be a bit of a pig to undo - the special tools being a big cold chisel and 4lb hammer! Full explanations elsewhere on the forum

A non-Citroen garage will often shy away, and say they need specialist tools! Removing the sphere is like unscrewing an awkward edisson screw lightbult. Replacing the spheres is an easy job to do. You'll lose a little LHM fluid, so check the reservoir when the job's done. A Citroen symbol on the old sphere indicates it's the original part from when the car was manufactured. Sometimes you can find cheap spheres on the internet. If so, it's worth buying the two, plus the four corner spheres while they're cheap, if you're planning to keep the car.

Good guide here:

OOOP's I use the cold chisel method to remove tight rear spheres, I'm going to get one of those proper tools.

Do NOT get one of those tools.

They are poor quality metal and not up to the job, they can't grip the sphere properly at all.

total waste of money.

get one from pleadies, they are exactly what the doctor ordered

If you are concerned about the quality then they have genuine Citroen spheres for £33
I think that GSF have them for around £20 and they do international deliveries.

machine mart chain wrench £7ish and a length of thick steel tube (nicked a bit of my kids swing), sorted! just did front corner spheres, and practiced getting access to accumulator with the same tool, didn't seem like a problem.
wish I had flushed before though as I just read old-guy's point about filling new sphere up with crappy lhm.
edit to add, citroen dealer quote: £200 diy including tool -£65
