It does make me chuckle at the absurdity of the original eBay auction
- there were a whole range or bizarre 'additions' which I'm surprised
got past the eBay police though I got a migraine looking at that pink
C5 after copying the first picture even with the addition of the eye candy!

it beats most of the colours the C5 was dressed in.

I see that as the problem with the looks.

Theres a red aston martin around here. it looks awful.

Astons are better in grey/silver as the styling is strong.

The C5 having conservative (squashed Xsara piccaso front) styling needed strong colours.

The other obvious thing was the wheel size.

Wheels have been getting steadily larger on production cars. 15" alloys are more at home on the Saxo segment they really don't suit the C5.

True, earlier C5s are very under-wheeled. Its the large body which does it. Later cars look better on the 16" wheels, though still have a good tyre depths for comfort.

I actually like Aston Martins in red, looks quite classy if its the deep met. red im thinking of.

I dont generally do dark coloured cars, silver or a shade of grey is my proffered choice.

Its Ferrari red which seems wrong somehow.

The most beautiful colour for all sports cars is the blood red/burgundy of the original Ferraris from the 40's.

The bright red is modern Ferrari and is not a gentlemans colour.

Best red I've seen has to be the Activa Dante IMHO.

Orange / crimson / 'fire engine' red, all in one go. :P
I just can't see a C5 carrying off such a colour.

I saw the mention of Demag in one of the posts, what am I missing?

The C5 styling is great, my favourite angle was the 3/4 view from the rear. Nice car, great ride but to me a Citroen Mondeo. Just the next step on from the Xantia.

Steve.

Are you saying the simile is true with the C5 then!?

That old chestnut = 'mantlepiece, stokin' fire' saying translated
to a C5 means they're best appreciated when you're inside, and
to Hell with the appearance? ;) :-**
