C5 Strip LED Sidelights - Where from?

Post by picnmix »

I'd like to fit LED sidelights like these to my C5:

Where can I get these? It looks like there is around 30 or more LEDs here and the length of the strip is obviously important.

Thanks, Chris

Would 5mm not be a bit too short?

I can imagine these standing out like Audi DTR lights, and i hate those! Would be interested to see a better picture, maybe lit up with the headlights to judge their brightness.

I think it means that each diode is 5mm Chris.

I quite like the new BMW 'eyebrows', very well restrained.

#-o For some reason i read it as 5cm, even though i wrote mm! Its been one of those days

Ive got a pair of LED bulbs on order for the sidelights, will post pictures when they have arrived. Im hoping for a better light which lights the hole of the sidelight area, but its not overly in your face.

led sidelights

Post by 411514 »

i like the look of those new audi style strip sidelights but i think it would be a lot of fuss sepearating and resealing the headlight unit. Iv got these in my sidelights look very smart and clean for a couple of quid.

How bright are they when they are on?

Any chance of posting up a couple of pictures of them?

Cheers.

ive just got a set of these for the xm as the sidlights look like they are sending out brown light compared to the hid's now, hopfully they will fit and will illuminate the reflector evenly too.

I've got a pair of 9smd bulbs that I tried today.
one is faulty so will have to get it replaced, but the other illuminates the reflector much better than the directional LEDs that I tried last month.
Will take pics later and post in the LED thread.

Can the light stip simply be poked into the sidelamp hole? Also, how do you get power to them without cutting the existing bulb holder off?

For a proper job you would need to split the headlights to position/glue the strip, and resealing them is a bit fussy, either use them in place of sidelights in which case you would have to either lop of the sidelight plug or make your own connection to this, or make your own DRL's with a seperate power connection
