This is part of the C5s cunning styling, it looks like a saloon and makes you think it is a saloon, as it has a 'boot' sticking out beyond the rear window, However it is definitely a hatchback. This is why earlier C5s don't have a rear wiper, so they pull off the saloon look better, however people complained and the C5 got a rear wiper.

It is a Hatchback! The boot lid and rear window open as one. Though Citroën have always called their large cars saloons, despite the fact that the Xm, Xantia, C5 etc is a hatchback. Im dissapointed that the C5III is a saloon, if it were a hatch id have one after this C5, in a few years.

I doubt ill ever have a saloon, as i really need the practicalities of a large hatchback, like the C5.

I received the LED bulbs today, the ones in the link on the first page.

I fitted them to the C5 Estate but they give off less light than the standard bulbs and they are a whitey blue so look very odd with the headlights.

Ive taken some pictures, ill post them up later.

Should be picking up my new car tomorrow morning, all being well. :)

My uncle has been looking at getting a C5 for a while, since he had one in 2001 as a company car. He has spotted one which I was interested in, a 1.6HDi VTX+ in black for a very reasonable price, he plans to look at that tomorrow. They seem to be spreading around my family these C5s!

Here are the pictures of the C5 Estate from earlier, the LED bulb on the right and the normal bulb on the left:

Headlights are dirty, but you get the idea of what the bulbs look like.

The normal bulbs are brighter, i prefer them.

They're not too bad at all Chris.

The next time the halogens blow on my Dad's car I'll be ordering a pair of them. They're never on on their own anyway, so the blueness is masked when the dipped lights are on. That should keep the MOT man happy.

Enjoy the new car.

They might be worth it if they last longer, Robert. I might try them back in when mine eats a sidelight bulb.

Never knew the c5 was a hatchback, they certainly done a good job of disguising it as a saloon.

I do quite like the C5.

True, it does look very much like a 'booted' saloon car, i like that, but you get the practicalities of the large hatchback, something i need.

C5s are very good cars, very underrated.

The C5III is a saloon however, dissapointing, though i prefer the C5I and C5II.
