2001 Berlingo 1.9 Diesel

Post by pottsy189 »

I have a 2001 berlingo 1.9 diesel from new, my problem is that when cold it will not start , so to start it I have to pump by hand the plunger so as to bleed air from the fuel, then it runs OK untill it stands idel for over3 hours, I have replaced the fuel filter and large rubber band that came with it but problem is still there , any suggestions please ?

Replace the leak off pipes between injectors
Also replace the fuel line from the filter to the pump with clear pipe so you can try and find the leak which is letting in air.

Sorted out the problem, replaced with correct filter with large rubber type seal [ not rubber though ] still a bit dodgy so pushed hard on the top connector , crappy type fitting , but now OK , have been informed since, that garages normally replace the whole filter [ body] as on diesel's this is a common problem, no dought it comes with new seals' hope this info helps out
