We read of many different types of scams in the press etc. There must be the rare time when it does pay off for them, or they wouldn't bother trying it on

A more eloquent way to describe this phenomena, involves a conjectured meeting between a person with money, and a person with experience.

At the meeting's conclusion, the one who arrives with the experience leaves with the money. The person who arrived with the money, is left with the experience...

I remember an old magazine article by Quentin Wilson, when he was still a trader and before he got on the TV

Someone came to buy a car, the deal was all done, and the bloke handed over a building society draft from Halifax Building Soceity

QW bundled the bloke into the boot of the car and called the police
