A rather random question ...
Nevertheless, my money would be on the 2.1 Xantia, low drag resistance fron the Xant and the bigger engine will help at the high speed, smaller engines tend not be as economical as speeds rise. Though it does depend on gearing too.
Must be very very little difference in it actually.

I wouldn't have thought there would be much difference, the bigger the engine the less it has to work to do the same job although the zx is a lighter car, if it were my choice I'd base my decision on insurance cost's but with the zx having the simpler suspension set up I'd probably opt for that and i suspect it probably is slightly more efficient than the xantia.
Music keeps me going.

Not quite the answer but my BX1.7td did 49mpg, Xantia 2.1td 47mpg and current Xantia HDi 110 has averaged 53mpg. So I would probably just give it to the ZX for being smaller and lighter. I will then contradict myself by saying that on a motorway run I get slighly less mpg out of our Xsara HDi 90 than the Xantia HDi 110 which I assume is down to the lower gear ratios in the Xsara.
Honestly, you could lose your licence. Honest.i3 wrote:thats mph...was just wondering...appreciate the speed limit, and dont really speed around recklessly every time i get into a car, but honestly, on the motorway, i usually will drive at round 100...

My thoughts too - 85 is just about OK these days but still pushing it!
The way they go on about speed these days 100mph is public stoning
territory.

Just because everyone else does it, doesn't make it right.
