Would appreciate for someone to take a detailed pic of the original routing for the windscreen washer tube in the vicinity of the drivers side bonnet hinge.
I have a constant problem with the tube kinking whenever the bonnet is opened and closed and whatever route I try doesn't resolve it !

Oh that is annoying, thats the first problem i fixed with mine.
if i remember correctly i followed it down the hinge arm and then put a BIG curve in it towards the rear of the car.
I'll take a pic later for you

Cheers It really bugs me when I forget to check the washers after being under the bonnet then discover they don't work when needed !!

Re: Windscreen washer tube routing ?
I had the same problem as a first solution tied the hose at the connection point with a tiny cable tierHDI wrote:...I have a constant problem with the tube kinking whenever the bonnet is opened ...
but this time hose was disconnected every second or third bonnet opening
Then as a second solution I have added a plastic cable spiral around the hose (also renewed the cable tier)
and that cured the problem.
As usual , I have pics of it but not with me at the moment. I can add pics later if you can't visualize it.
I have never heard or seen the same solution anywhere else but it helped and worked many years

Edit: "Cable spiral" is not the correct name for it I guess, Google search gave correct images with the words: "Cable, retention,Spiral wrap".
Main function of it (in my case) was to isolate the washer hose and the car body.

The original tubing on my 1995 TD split after 9 yrs, and I replaced the full length of tubing, providing, as Chris says, a good curve of tubing towards the rear of car. It was originally fixed near lower edge of bonnet with a cable tie.
This month, 6 years later, I've had to redo, as the the tubing had split again, but this time, I just cut out the 6-8" of tubing just under the scuttle and replaced it, using 2 in-line plastic connectors - a much quicker job. presumably the tubing hardens with age, and I don't mind redoing the job every 6 years
I wonder if too much tubing curved back under the scuttle could foul up with the wiper drive mechanism?

From the hinge, the turbo then goes through to the back of the outer wing in the same place all the Wiring harness goes, under the plastic cover... then it goes over the front wheel behind the arch liner and down to the Washer Pump at the front ahead of the drivers wheel...
