However my C5II is smart, as it only puts on the cars exterior lights and not the dash lights, it does warn me with the usual headlight light on the dash but it doesn't light up the dash lights. If its still raining when it detects dusk or poor light then it turns on the dash lights too. Quite a good idea again as you don't need all the interior dashboard lights on when its raining, but having the headlights on is in poor weather is usually a good thing.
That's excellent! Renaults aren't that intelligent. I've had to turn the lights on a few times in rain as they aren't linked to the wipers.

I think I know what you're talking about with the menu thing? My grandmothers C4 has a "Status of Functions" section where it tells you all that... very clever indeed. But my S1 C5 didn't have a section like that within the sat nav, but then again, I don't think it had voice commands.
French is best.

Yes, im prety sure the C4 and C5II use the same menu. It does have a status function which tells you what is turned on and turned off, however you can go into other settings to turn the things on and off. Turning the rear wiper on or off when reverse is selected, activating auto door locking etc.

Good to hear you've got it sorted, corsehf :)

Used to? Does this indicate more high tech failure?

Now you see, there's yet another totally uneccessary high tech load of nonsense, and they do fail in time too...I know, I had such twoddle once on an unmentionable heap of durge that I unfortunately owned.

Sorry, but I am the resident hater of high technological toys.
Not sorry at all really.

Now I ask you. What is wrong with an old Bush transistor radio sellotaped to the rear parcel shelf ey?

Yes, C5IIs do have Xenons and foglights. Xenons are standard on C5II Exclusive and were optional on the VTR. There are a number of early C5IIs (54s) around with VTR spec and optional Xenons and the parking pack (which gave front and rear distance sensors and power folding mirrors). They do seem to be in beige or green too. I think mostly press/Citroen cars.

I looked at a VTR with those options and in Beige, really should have bought it but missed out on a cheap car really.

I was not aware that the C5I with Xenons don't have fogs, but then the fogs are in the headlight and not in the bumper like on the II.

I do like a few gadgets on cars, but can live without. All I want from a daily driver is AC, anything else is a bonus and usually features I like. However ive not had any problems with 'tech', yet!
