Hi there,
According to Bosal catalogue the 110 is 60 mm diameter The 90 is 54 mm diameter. Those dimensions apply to the hatchback as well as the estate exhaust pipes.

Ted

But the rear box is the same dia as the lesser models, so the pipe swages down at the inlet to the box. On most cars the exhaust is one piece from engine to back box, including a CAT, and is fearsomely expensive. There is a repair pipe aft the cat available at a much more reasonable price!

Its the repair section i am after. As per my progress thread, the Activa pipe diameter is an abysmal 54mm, and people wonder why they run out of puff??

Plan is, to obtain the 110 HDi repair section. This removes one of the boxes from the system. The extra diameter will make all the difference. The repair section will be mated up to my decat pipe, which fingers crossed, will be the bigger diameter pipe to match. Then, i only have to fit a compact silencer at the rear, weld on the tailpipe of my choice and we should have a good performing system for less than £100, the gains should be impressive actually as removing just the baffled silencer on my old Activa for a straight through helped the top end. Cant wait!

We're both party right, HDI....

None of the rear boxes are larger (well except maybe for the V6!*) - and in fact looking at it, the larger pipe only appears to apply to cars post Nov 99 when the EEC 2000 engine came in, and the exhaust went one piece from engine to rear box.

* there is also a 2.0T specific rear box, but not sure why!

I'm not interested in the back box, only the pipe from cat to back box.

My calculations are not exactly correct though. The OD of 55mm could easily reduce to 51mm Id once the wall thickness of the pipe is taken into account. 60mm is closer to 2.5 inch, which is exactly what i want.

Anyway here is the pipe in question -

http://seekpart24.com/bosal/repair-pipe ... 7?c=100047

Designed to slip over the cut off section of pipe from the CAT if the centre part is rotten but that CAT is fine, it then has the standard flare at the rear, which i will fit an aftermarket backbox onto. The front part will fit onto my home made down pipe.

All I can say from my own experience is that the box on my '99 HDI 110 has a larger in and out pipe than the 90 version. This is a 3 piece system.
I used a repair centre section to rebuild the system recently.
