Travelling on dual carriageway the retaiing wire on the spare wheel holder under the van snapped!
Wheel flew off and luckily didnt hit anyone went back at next roundabout but wheel was wrecked. Couldn't find cable to check for rust etc.
Nemo is just over two years old and dealer doesn't want to know. Has anyone had a similar experience?

I have heard of these seizing on the 1007 models (I think it was that model that shared the cable secured spare wheel) but snapping no.
What will not help is if someone uses an air gun to tighten it up, its not like the hook where you could get away with it (even though a bad practise) , it does need to be done by hand. I wonder if it was previously tightened up by a tyre fitter a bit too enthusiastically
