Xantia rear door protector removal

Post by colski »

Just wondering if anyone knows how to remove the o/s rear door protector, as I can see a bit of rust below it which i'm going to sort out, but can't get to it unless the protector comes off.
Do they just clip on, or will I have to take the inside of the door apart to get it off.

Thanks

If you are referring to the wide strip approx half way down the door then on my S2 Xantia the strip is retained by clips located in holes within the door skin... easy job, all accessible without requiring removel of inner door panel.

Well I don't know the official way but mine got caught on something and popped off easy enough, I suspect that if you use something broad and plastic (ice scraper perhaps) and gently lever at one end you will get it to pop off though you will probably snap the clips. New ones are readily available and cost pennies... insert the new clips into the strip and offer it up to the holes in the door... about nine holes if memory serves correctly.
