C3 Cooling fan

Post by monkey40 »

Hi, newbie here. Just had my car in to,local citoren dealer and they are stinging me 375.33 to repair a fault on my cooling fan. the fault is a blown relay, but the dealer tells me that this cannot be just replaced and that the whole fan assembly must be purchased. Can anyone tell me is this true????

Do you mean the engine cooling fan, or the cabin ventilation fan?

If it's the engine cooling fan, there are pattern parts offered by both Valeo and Frig-Air for most engines and options on the C3. Cost a little less than you have quoted - but labour needs adding in.

I am happy to pay if i Know it's a valid repair, it's really the fact that I am not sure they would need to change the whole radiator fan assembly for a blown relay?

Depending what engine it is & what equipment is fitted (A/C etc) the cooling fan is known as a chopper fan & it's a complete assembly.
