c5 display

Post by gilly »

just bought 2.0 diesel c5. display keeps going 'haywire' ! i.e. mpg indicator showing varying readouts, ranging from 32 mpg to 999 mpg ! then all sorts of displays keep showing. Also, cd player works, then doesn't work, don't know if this is related, any ideas ?

Get the battery checked. Low battery voltage is notorious for sending C5s doolally.

That could be because of the setting you've got it on. Mpg shows according to how the accelerator pedal is depressed. My C5 always shows 999mpg when it's on over-run.

Yes, there are two MPG settings on the trip computer, one is average - the average MPG since you tripped the computer last and the other is instant, telling you the MPG which you are doing at that moment. Hence if you accelerate you will get it very low and if you ease off it will go to 999.

Does the button to work the trip computer on the end of the wiper stalk work?
