although i drive a 2cvspecial I know very little about basic maintainance. Are there any grouops that meet and share skills on doing things oneself? It's all very well looking at diagrams but when i lift my bonnet up everything looks so different.

There is a good message board at the Thames Tortoises site url http://www.jags.co.uk/rodney/
In addition you could join 2CV GB, whose site is at http://www.2cvgb.co.uk/ If you join you get a copy of their manual which tells you most things. But the Tortoises message board is very good.

Must also add that the 2CV Gb site has a list of clubs in UK, so you could find a local group you could join.
