Long shot

Post by Chris570 »

Did citroen ever make the xantia estate with the v6 engine?

i would guess that this would have to be in LHD guise..

No and no I'm sad to say Chris....

A "special" RHD V6 estate exists, made, I believe, by BL Autos and was up for grabs a while back. Very expensive though...

There was never any Activa estates at all :(

Not sure if any specials have been made either...

A V6 automatic Activa estate with Exclusive spec. would be my ideal Xantia...

Didn't the Pug 406 have some unusual specs?
I seem to remember reading about poverty spec v6s along with v6 estates. I could be wrong though, still its a nice thought 8-)

Most were GLX (older shape)

Newer ones were GTX or Exec spec

I 'think' there may have been some base spec ones around for the Police service etc, along the same lines as there was such a thing as a 405 GL 1.9i (low spec no electrics but the powerful 1.9 unit) for them.

A lovely thought Toby, but two problems. Time and money

Not sure if an Activa estate is possible, the rear suspension is different on an estate and I'm not sure how the suspension from an Activa hatch would go...

406 V6 estates exist and are good but they don't do a lot for me. they lack the necessary ingredient - green blood...

   Boats are OK on water Andy, but not on the road...

My lad has a 406 2.1TD so I know exactly what you mean

My 405 was a bit floaty and used to make our youngest travel sick. She never had a problem when I swapped it for a Xantia...

The basic chassis horns - or whatever you may wish to call them - for a V6 are close to the Activa and diesel cars. Petrol NA four-potters are slightly different.

Hardest things about Activating an estate (other than parts) are the firmware and a marginal requirement to uprate the rear anti-roll bar.

Ive seen the V6 Xantia estate, manual S1 with a S2 front. Its very nice, it was on the CCC stand at the NEC classic car show one year, same year as our van was.

I think the 406 estate was available with a V6 and a manual box?

The C5 V6 estate would make a very nice car in my opinion, fully hydractive, strong V6 engine and lots of space and spec. I wouldnt mind trying a V6 C5, something i wouldn't mind owning.

I can confirm it is (well, was) , although apart from the Coupe most were auto.

If I had to take a wild guess, I would say 1/10 V6's were manual if that, although I did not see that many V6's generally anyway.
