FAP fluid warning

I have a '53 C5 Exclusive estate 2.2HDi. Have had the particulate fluid topped up at 95k miles and now with 135k on the clock it's warning me again that the FAP fluid is low. It was expensive the first time to do at an independent dealer but have now moved to NE Scotland where I can't find one so might have to rely on a v. expensive main dealer. How long can I go before something happens as in 6 weeks I will be going down south and can get it back to the independent garage. Estimate I will cover around 1500 miles before then. Can I risk it? Is there an alternative way ...?
