Xantia S2 Dash bulbs replacement

Post by Gingerposer »

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone can tell me for sure if it is possible to change individual dash bulbs in the S2 Xantia (2000 registered). I ask cos the Haynes suggests there was a change around the s1-s2 meaning the console in a s2 mayor may not be a sealed unit.

Anyone?

Cheers

X2. Though you can re-use the holders which saved me a few pennies. It would be wise to replace them all but IIRC there's about 30 of the blighters altogether!

When I was first looking at Xantias, one I came across had a rainbow effect dash lighting setup!

I found ebay item 120432958552 might hurt the pocket less if changing all 30.

I've fitted LEDs to some positions on the 405, and the bulbs needed light "dressing" to their plastic sleeves with 80 grit. As they're not really dimmable I used them only for on-off telltales.

Heatsink pliers seemed a good way to grip and extract the old T-5 bulbs.

Cheers folks, that's going to be a job for next weekend then. Bulbs I have by the dozen anyway - got a sheet of them from ebay for a few quid years ago - search for fruit machine bulbs and you can pick them up quite reasonably in packs of 50 or 100.
