Xantia 97 More help Please!
Right new problem;
Thanks for your help on the last problem that is now improved but ongoing,
I was fool and thought it would be nice and straight forward, ( i Should have known better)
Fitted in the new radio just by swapping over the iso connectors leaving off the remote connectors and of course put in the radio aerial.
Now i have no dash illumination at all. except the window switches.
any ideas whats caused this? fuses are fine and i have replaced to make sure to no avail.
Thanks in advance

I would say you had blown the illumination fuse but you said you checked them.
The window switches will come from the ignition supply so they will not be effected.
I don't think there's a loop effect with the illumination feed.
Check any dimmer for the panel lights, not quite sure where this will be to be honest, maybe on the bottom of the column cowling (off topic note: 405's have it here) , you may have caught it which would give the effect of no panel lighting.

Spider's last suggestion is the most likely and simplest explanation; the panel dimmer control. It's a 'wheel' (as on a wheel-mouse) set in the bottom steering column cowl towards the back right - nearer to you than the bonnet release. It's very easy to accidentally turn it fully dim.

Mine (205 but same place) used to flicker. I ended up just joining them together, simple fix.jgra1 wrote:Morph are both wires still plugged into that dimmer switch? if one gets caught and pulls out you may lose all lights.

Just simply said to test for power to one side of it, as its not unknown for them to go open circuit.
If you do have power at one side, temporarily (if you want to) join them together to bypass the dimmer. At least this way you`ll know its not that interfering with it (and if they work like that you know the cause)
