A friend is considering a Xantia 3.0 v6.
Mileage is close to replacing timing belt, the car comes with new timing belt sadly in the boot!
He's pretty good mechanic though no Citroen experience He and I would like to know what's involved - does engine have to come out? or looking at pics wondering remove top engine mount and jack engine up?
He will buy if he can do it and not cost him £'ssss to have it done.

It does not require the engine to come out. It is a bit fiddly in places, but it took me less than a day to do it first time around, and I think that I could do one in about 3 hours now.
It is considered essential to change the water pump, and it is much easier to tension the belt if you replace the tensioner assembly with one from the later engine as fitted to the C5 etc. (the water pump model has to match the tensioner).
