Hi Guys
Picked the new Saxo up a couple of week ago which came with 2 keys (a welcome bonus!) but no remotes, the old Saxo (same age but VTR) which someone kindly wrote off had a remote which i may have forgotten to give to the insurers.
Anyone know how i can program the remote to the new car without going via the dealer?
Cheers
Liam

Are they BOTH Radio Remote or RF, or is the older one IR - Infra Red?
If the older is infra red it will be no good to you...(But maybe to a Xantia or 306 owner)
The changeover was around 1998...

If its like the older (as in InfraRed) 106's you cannot.
The roof receiver and key transmitter are matched and not 'codeable' , typically you order the remote key 'button' part (for want of a better word) using the number off the roof console.
Later ones (RadioFrequency) can be coded, at least as far as I am aware.

Yes RF Can be coded easyilly WITH a lexia .....
As for IR, thats interesting, as it then seems the Xantia was the only one with a Learning Roof reciver then...
The XM's are a match PAIR and I beleve ZX's too, though, im under the impression IR 306's are "Learning" recivers

That's the later one, it (should) be codeable with a Lexia in that case.seisporting wrote:Its the same as later Xsara ones i think, it has 2 buttons, a big one and a smaller one, they arent ir i dont think,
You're right Paul. The 106 / 405 are 'locked' (you order the 'transmitter' to match the roof receiver) , 306's / 406's etc are home-codeable as it were. I'm just talking about the IR ones obviously , the later radio ones are Lexia / Diag codeable as far as I am aware.citroenxm wrote:

I think the earlier (the huge separate 'plip' thing as supplied with some 405's / 205's (possibly BX ?) too, these can be replaced with the later key (single button) obviously same again, order to match roof controller.
