Xantia L reg questions
Hi all
As stated in the for sale section i have aquired a 1.9 td with a few minor problems.
The engine has recently been replaced and i need a few questions answered
As can just be seen in this pic the breather pipe from the oil filler is not correct.
If you look close you can just make out the breather going from the oil filler to the rocker cover as apposed to going to where the copper pipe is.
This is what the original rocker cover and breather pipe setup should be
Now i understand the current engine came from a MK1 estate but i cant seem to get the diagrams from Service.Citroen for what i have in the engine bay (site playing up ).
I am assuming that what has been done is the air ducting etc from the original engine has been used and as this rocker cover has a breather outlet it has been plumbed in directly to the oil filler breather.
Can anyone shed some light on how to correct this without having to change the rocker cover/oil filler and associated pipes
Im not going to be keeping the car as stated in the original Thread just want to get it "right"
Cheers
Colin

Colin, pipe 5 is the one that goes from the cam cover to the filler housing down low on the back.
What's been disconnected and replaced with a copper pipe (no idea why) is item 3 and pipe 6 which connects to the upper spigot on the back of the oil filler housing.
So presuming that pipe 5 is still in place, you need pipe 6 and item 3.

Hi Xac
Thats what i thought but having looked at the car briefly again tonight what is in place is pipe 6 which goes from the upper spigot on the oil filler housing to the cam cover (sorry i called it rocker cover )
This pipe is not the right one as its nearly folded over as it gets to the cam cover.
I couldnt see a pipe going to the lower part of the filler housing so assuming its not there
Could explain the oil on and around the injectors
Will need to have a closer look tomorrow and take some pics

I think I made a comment about that breather missing!!
Surely your not intending buying a new one from the stealer?? Im sure I can find the one missing from your picture in the shed.. as for the cam cover to the oil filler one, that sits over the injectors thats a probleme for me, it goes brittle at the cam cover and splits...

I don't think they're that much from stealers, Cassy needed a new cam-filler pipe as hers split at the cam end as Paul mentioned.
