That would be a shame. Which ones have you tried and what sort of figures were quoted.
Are you getting quotes for yourself only? Sometimes adding another driver with no claims or convictions can reduce the premium considerably.
I'm pretty happy with Liverpool Victoria but they aren't as good for everyone.

up your excess or get a category stated alarm fitted...may cost a few quid but will drop your insurance down
there isnt many cars that are cheap to insure lately, everyones prices are going up due to the amount of non insured drivers around aswell as interest rates
my insurance went up from my 1600 escort to this, yet i thought it wouldnt change as the escort is so easily nicked compared to these, plus more chance of it getting nicked than the xantia

I bet the cost of the alarm/imobiliser will outweigh the saving on the premium. Unfortunitely is the road risk & the power of the car thats the biggest factors not theft.Pompey_Dave wrote:up your excess or get a category stated alarm fitted...may cost a few quid but will drop your insurance down
I think everyone is in the same boat this year, since ive been driving i've never paid more than the year before (even when changing to a bigger car) untill this year when i had to pay £350 more. The only thing that changed since last years policy is the car is now worth less, work that out.

i remember them days of paying over the odds on insurance lol!
Mine isnt that cheap really considering the no claims that I have, aswell as my age (although im still young to the insurance companies)
I pay just shy of £500, but thats fully comp, protected no claims, breakdown cover, and free vandalism and non insured drivers cover so I dont complain really
My worse insurance was £1100 TPFT on my old Suzuki Swift GTi that I owned a few years ago

thing is though, parts for these arent that expensive that going TPFT cant be that bad a thing to do...the only reason I went FC was for the fact that it was only a tiny bit more money
if it was a dramatic drop then I would of saved myself cash...to me its only a citroen, not something like a porche or merc that a new wing would cost me a month or so wages!
