Full re-spray

Post by XantiaDaveEire »

Iv found a 96 Xantia that was stored in a garage for 4 years with an original 41,000 on the clock \:D/

Only problem is the colour is disgusting  Its like a maroony/purple

So i want to get the whole car re-sprayed

Does anyone have a ball park figure as to what the cost would be :?:

Cheers Fellas

More than the cost of getting used to it!

About £2300 upwards here, for a colour change on an undamaged car. That's in name brand 2K.

i would say based on prices ive had you could get it blown over for 1k ish depending on the paint you use but thats if you strip it down to a shell yourself, masking and painting will be about the same price, if you do the masking but that would look bad as all the door shuts and engine bay etc would be the wrong colour but from out side it would look fine, just depends how picky your are, is the colour really that bad?

Take some getting used to!

Strip car down complete, no rubbing down etc about £1000 the most time used is taking it apart and putting it all back together.

I'm having a CX done at mo, £1200 I stripped it complete, painter is changing Colour, replacing rear quarter wing, 4 doors and sills.

Last year had CX Estate done same colour no work from me £2000 cash save yourself a grand by doing some work yourself, it's worth it.

I like it! Spend the money on some nice alloys instead. :D

I'd rather have my Activa in that purple colour than what i is. Although even then I wouldn't consider paying 2000 Euros.

im going to put myself out here but i dont think its wrong that i like that colour at all, its not pink and girly but its not (well i was going to say green and boring) at the other end of the scale and a normal colour either, do you own a matching neck scarf? might be a rather fetching combo

Ha ha! No, I'd just like my Activa to stand out a bit more. But not enough to spend £2k getting a respray to Dante Red!

yes that Red is nice, i think ive seen pictures of Andmcit's delage red Activa? and that looked lovely, i think Citroenmad had one too and isnt one of Jims that colour?

Must be a rare colour that purple though, there is a 2.0 xantia over here in that colour but most seem to be green, silver or blue.

I think Jim's is the more vivid Dante's Red. Rather special!
