My engine jerking

Post by AbangCorp »

Dear All,

I have a very bad jerking (something like miss fire & loss power) and cause my bracket to crack - it is made with aloy

now I have replaced it, the jerking is still there
what I suspect now is my injector is blocked or my fuel pump is giving me a problem now

what do you guys think?

I suspect my bettery is low --> alternator not charge the batt enough due to belt is worn --> wheel arch cover is missing & dirt, water is attacking my aux belt

Thanks

If its specific to one cylinder, its injector or valve issues I would say.

Battery does not make a lot of difference really with a indirect injection diesel, as the only 'power' needed is to hold the stop solenoid open (and possibly control the pump timing a bit) , although it will probably run reasonably well with < 9v (nothing else would work but I doubt it would stop)

Now you give me more symptom idea

I do think it is one specific cylinder, sometimes it is a one silent jerk
and then another one big, sometimes continuously

there is no specific speed when it happend
the best part is, my car engine stopped

I'd go with an injector, valve problems (usually!) will be happening all the time or not.

Intermittent is more likely injector, although I cannot remember having had one act up intermittently, but I guess it can happen. If possible (not sure given your location) can you have them tested ?

Does that mean valve, a bent valve?

I also have overheating problem, but it never went over 95 degree celsius
i already have new pump, and a thermostat standby

will flush and do good cleaning to my tank

No, I was thinking more of the clearance being closed up too much (so in effect it does not really do much) or (unlikely) burned out.

If this was my car, I would start with the injectors as this is going to be easier than even thinking about valves.

it's a leaky diesel along the fuel line
what do you all think, is it possible?

If its leaking fuel out, it will be taking air in = poor running

That needs sorting first.
