Do Xantia Athena models have hydractive??

Post by Dommo »

Hi folks

As above really, are Athena models just re-badged VSX's??

Thanks!

Yes. If you've seen that white one for £300 and want to fix it up.
No if you're just going to scrap it for the strut tops...

Yes to the first bit ;)

Doesn't seem to need much doing to it from what I can see, will just give it a clean, lube up the height correctors, change the spheres and stick some hydraflush in if needed, and use as a workhorse.

Which may mean the Activa will be for sale

These fitted in the short grey area in the transition between VSX to Exclusive.
Many don't even have a badge or still have "VSX" on the boot but Athena on
the reg doc.

Handy - why do citroen love all these stupid names! Peugeot (being the same company) are the same, I remember from my 306, they did mardi gras, roland garros (which is meant to be something special?), spinnaker, and all sorts of stupid names

Best way to be fully up to speed is to confirm with the seller the feed
pipe diameter but his eeengleesh may be challenging.

I've asked for a picture of the height control lever, to see if there's a 'sport' switch there. I swear there wasn't a bid on it when I posted this thread 10-15 minutes ago!

Cheers anyway Andrew + Xac. Stupid Citroen names...

I'm not sure Andrew - I've only been looking for 1.9VSX's or 2.1 Exclusives. Didn't realise that Athena's were VSX until I realised how much like a VSX this ebay one is..

Sunroof car with AC too - rare on a Xantia of this era...

White actually looks good on a Xantia
- I'm currently running a TD 1.9 Sx estate in White on Activa/TCT rims and it looks really smart!

Oops - was only kidding....

;)

Ask him if it has the 'sport switch' for the 'sports gearbox' - a common misunderstanding!! You'll be Ok!! Athena is a very rare variant so little is known or written about them.
