air flow meter tweak?

Post by mrlogik »

Hi all here's my kind of problem ive already learnt the hard way that it pays to buy a genuine maf as the cheap ones from ebay die quickly, trouble is the genuine citroen part i bought has now started to fade on power and has a reluctance to rev much past 3000rpm.
Questions 1,can i fit a different maf meter. 2,Is there some way i can fool the meter into thinking more air is going by it and get more fuel into the motor.
I have seen devices online for sale for fooling rover 200 diesels into the above as ther mafs fail regularly and fitted one to my dads rover with success.Would the maf from a 2.0 136 hdi or 2.2 hdi gain any power for this car or be more reliable, il clean my maf tomorrow with a spray of carb cleaner and see if i gain any oomph.
