Xantia as refusing to start!?!?!?!?

Post by Xantia2.0 »

HELP! I went out to go to the shops earlier and the car wouldn't start! It kept cranking over and over but no go! As I crank over theres kind of a slapping/clicking sound. Like a loose belt or something. Please help!! I've got another meeting in 2 hours and need the car to run!

Do you mean Serpentine Belt ? It is not that as it was just replaced a few days ago. And I cranked it over at 10 second intervals with 20 second breaks inbetween.

No air con. I got it running eventually. But there is a bad slapping when it idles and it's idling very rough. To my knowledge that can only mean one thing... Cam belt is on it's way out... :?:
