Diagnostic socket in 1998 Xantia

Post by JamesQB »

Hi,

Finally just bought myself a Lexia which should be winging its way to me soon. Noticed it comes with 30-pin cable but not 2-pin one and I forgot to check before buying it. :? Does anyone know what diagnostic socket a 1998 Xantia 1.9TD uses?

Just curious if I'll be able to check my parents' car over, really.

Thanks

I believe that'll have the 16-pin connector.

It is a brown rectangular 16 pin plug under the steering column
by the fusebox.

Thanks for the information. Is there much need for me to try to get a 2-pin cable for the Lexia, or is it only used on very old Citroens?

I wouldn't have thought, the two pin was pre Xantia and even then they only throw up flash codes which can be replicated by using an LED.

Mk1 xantia has the 30 pin socket & the mk2 has the 16 pin socket.
Wouldnt bother with the 2 pin socket unless you work on a lot of AX's,ZX's or older XM's.

That's good news. With the amount of car and mechanic grief you've had in the past, it has to be a massive step forwards.

I bought the two-pin connector with mine out of idle curiosity, to see if it would paint a different picture to the flash codes on my 405.

It should be, especially as it will allow me to program in the new injector, and as both sides of the family have Citroens, it'll hopefully prove invaluable.

After finding the turbo in the C3 seized, I've now finished stripping it down and cleaning it all and will be refitting it over the next few days. Fingers crossed that's the end of it then and we'll finally have a working car!

I looked more closely and realised the 2-pin connector is included with the Lexia kit I've bought... didn't realise.

Thanks everyone for the help.
