citroen saxo 99 1.5d steering problem

Post by tony2k9 »

hi all 1st post new citroen owner. saxo 1.5 diesel vreg(99).this may be a daft question but we have a slight problem with our afore mentioned saxo. lovely car runs well but... my partner drives and when it comes to reverse parking its a major pain, she has not got power steering so shes struggling. it came with alloys on but not sure of the size,so i need to know what size wheels are supposed to be on the saxo and will oversize alloys make a diffrence?
thanks in advance for reading

Diesel Saxos came with 13" pressed steel wheels fitted with 165/70 tyres. Power steering, if it's fitted is by electric pump. The reservoir is under the bonnet, at the front right hand side.

I would think any oversized tyres is going effect the handling.

thanks for that, explains a lot. the car hasn't got power steering but present alloys are 14/185/60 so that is probably the cause much appreciated

If its any help, 106's are quite heavy steering generally anyway (parking) with standard wheels / tyres.

The bit of extra weight of the diesel engine will not help either.
